SCRIPTURE

"The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Prisca salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house." — 1 Corinthians 16:19 (ASV)

The churches of Asia. The word "Asia" in the New Testament usually denotes Asia Minor in general (see the notes on Acts 2:9).

It was sometimes used in a more limited sense to denote the region around Ephesus, of which Ephesus was the center and capital (see the notes on Acts 16:6).

This is undoubtedly the region intended here.

Salute you. Greet you; send respectful and affectionate Christian regards (see the notes on Romans 16:3).

Aquila and Priscilla. (See the notes on Acts 18:26.)

Much in the Lord. With affectionate Christian salutations, or as Christians, wishing the blessing and favor of the Lord.

With the church that is in their house. (See the notes on Romans 16:5.)
