SCRIPTURE

"nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God." — 1 Corinthians 6:10 (ASV)

Nor covetous (see the notes on 1 Corinthians 5:10).

It is remarkable that the apostle always ranks the covetous with the most abandoned classes of men.

Nor revilers. This is the same word that, in 1 Corinthians 5:11, is rendered railer. (See the notes on 1 Corinthians 5:11).

Nor extortioners. (See the notes on 1 Corinthians 5:11).

Shall inherit. This means they shall enter or shall be saved (1 Corinthians 6:9).

The word "extortioners" also signifies "oppressors."
