SCRIPTURE

"As Jehovah hath been with my lord the king, even so be he with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord king David." — 1 Kings 1:37 (ASV)

As the Lord has been with my lord— This phrase expresses a very high degree of divine favor. It occurs first in the promises of God to Isaac (Genesis 26:3, 24) and Jacob (Genesis 28:13).
