Albert Barnes Commentary 1 Samuel 14:26

"And when the people were come unto the forest, behold, the honey dropped: but no man put his hand to his mouth; for the people feared the oath." — 1 Samuel 14:26 (ASV)

The honey dropped—or rather, “Behold a stream of honey.” A similar phenomenon may be seen in Spain, where copious streams of honey are often found in woody and rocky ground.
