Albert Barnes Commentary 2 Chronicles 31:15

"And under him were Eden, and Miniamin, and Jeshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, in their office of trust, to give to their brethren by courses, as well to the great as to the small:" — 2 Chronicles 31:15 (ASV)

The cities of the priests - That is, the Levitical cities (compare the marginal reference). Of these, some had gone to decay, while others, such as Libnah and Beth-shemesh (2 Chronicles 21:10; 2 Chronicles 28:18), had been lost, so that the original number of thirteen was now apparently reduced to six.

In their set office - Rather, as in the margin. These six Levites were stationed at the Levitical cities, with the following trust committed to them.
