Albert Barnes Commentary 2 Kings 19:22

"Whom hast thou defied and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice and lifted up thine eyes on high? [even] against the Holy One of Israel." — 2 Kings 19:22 (ASV)

The Holy One of Israel – This is a favorite phrase of Isaiah, found in his prophecies 27 times, while it occurs only five times in the rest of Scripture (Psalms 71:22; Psalms 78:41; Psalms 89:18; Jeremiah 50:29; Jeremiah 51:5). Its occurrence here is a strong proof—one among many—of the genuineness of this passage. It is not a composition by the writer of Kings, but an actual prophecy delivered at this time by Isaiah.
