Albert Barnes Commentary
"And he carried out thence all the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the king`s house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold, which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of Jehovah, as Jehovah had said." — 2 Kings 24:13 (ASV)
During the first capture of the city in the fourth (third) year of Jehoiakim, the plundered items consisted of smaller and lighter vessels (Daniel 1:2; 2 Chronicles 36:7). Now, however, the heavier articles—such as the table of showbread, the altar of incense, and the ark of the covenant—were stripped of their gold, which the conquerors carried away.
Consequently, by the time of the final capture in the reign of Zedekiah, little remained that was more precious than brass (2 Kings 25:13–17).
