"And they went after them unto the Jordan: and, lo, all the way was full of garments and vessels, which the Syrians had cast away in their haste. And the messengers returned, and told the king." — 2 Kings 7:15 (ASV)
The Syrians had probably fled by the great road that led from Samaria to Damascus through Geba, En-gannim, Beth-shean, and Aphek. This road crosses the Jordan at the Jisr Mejamia, about thirty-five miles northeast of Samaria.
