"It may be that Jehovah will look on the wrong done unto me, and that Jehovah will requite me good for [his] cursing of me this day." — 2 Samuel 16:12 (ASV)

His cursing. Another reading has “my curse,” that is, the curse that has fallen upon me. David recognizes in every word and action that he was receiving the due reward for his sin, and what Nathan had foretold.
