"of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah." — 2 Samuel 8:12 (ASV)

Syria - Rather, as in 1 Chronicles 18:11, Edom, which is manifestly the correct reading, both because Edom, Moab, and Ammon are so frequently joined together, and because David’s spoil from Syria is expressly mentioned at the end of the verse. (The Hebrew letters for Aram (Syria) and Edom are very similar.)
