Albert Barnes Commentary 2 Timothy 1:14

"That good thing which was committed unto [thee] guard through the Holy Spirit which dwelleth in us." — 2 Timothy 1:14 (ASV)

That good thing which was committed unto thee. (See Barnes on 1 Timothy 6:20).

The reference here in the phrase, "that good thing committed to thee," is to the sound Christian doctrine with which he had been entrusted, and which he was required to transmit to others.
