Albert Barnes Commentary
"And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all things that God had done with them, and that he had opened a door of faith unto the Gentiles." — Acts 14:27 (ASV)
They rehearsed, etc. (Acts 11:4). They related what had happened: their dangers and their success. This they did because they had been sent out by the church, and it was proper that they should give an account of their work, and because it furnished a suitable occasion of gratitude to God for his mercy.
All that God had done, etc. — in protecting and guarding them, and so on. All was traced to God.
Had opened the door of faith. God had furnished an opportunity of preaching the gospel to the Gentiles (1 Corinthians 16:9; 2 Corinthians 2:12).
