SCRIPTURE

"And all the city was moved, and the people ran together; and they laid hold on Paul, and dragged him out of the temple: and straightway the doors were shut." — Acts 21:30 (ASV)

The city was moved. Was agitated; was thrown into commotion.

Drew him out of the temple. Under the pretense that he had defiled it. The evident design was to put him to death, Acts 21:31.

The doors were shut. The doors leading into the courts of the temple.

"Forthwith": "immediately".
