SCRIPTURE

"And when he was come, the Jews that had come down from Jerusalem stood round about him, bringing against him many and grievous charges which they could not prove;" — Acts 25:7 (ASV)

Grievous complaints (Acts 25:7). These were heavy accusations. Doubtless, they were the same with which they had charged him before Felix (Acts 24:5–6). Compare to Acts 25:19.

Which they could not prove (Acts 25:7). Compare Acts 24:13, 19.

The word "come" (from the KJV phrase "when he was come" in Acts 25:7) signifies "when he appeared."

The term "complaints" means "accusations."

Regarding the phrase "which they could not prove" (Acts 25:7), compare Psalm 35:11; Matthew 5:11–12; Acts 24:5, 13.
