SCRIPTURE

"And touching at Syracuse, we tarried there three days." — Acts 28:12 (ASV)

And landing at Syracuse. Syracuse was the capital of the island of Sicily, on the eastern coast. It was in the direct course from Malta to Rome. It contains at present about 18,000 inhabitants.

The word "tarried" means "remained."
