Albert Barnes Commentary
"And as he held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon`s, greatly wondering." — Acts 3:11 (ASV)
Held Peter and John. The word held means that he adhered to them, joined himself to them, desired to remain with them, and wished to participate with them.
All the people... Excited by curiosity, they gathered. The fact of the cure and the man's conduct would soon draw a crowd, thus providing a good opportunity to preach the gospel to them.
In the porch that is called Solomon’s... (John 10:23; Acts 5:12). This porch was a covered way or passage on the east side of the temple. It was distinguished for its magnificence. For the plan and description of the temple, see the notes on Matthew 21:12.
The term “healed,” referring to the man’s restoration, can also be rendered as “cured.”
