"And of Asher he said, Blessed be Asher with children; Let him be acceptable unto his brethren, And let him dip his foot in oil." — Deuteronomy 33:24 (ASV)
Rather, Blessed above the sons (that is, of Jacob, and most blessed among the sons of Jacob) be Asher; let him be the favored one of his brethren, that is, the one favored by God. The plenty with which this tribe should be blessed is described under the figure of dipping the foot in oil (compare the marginal reference).
