Albert Barnes Commentary Ephesians 5:17

"Wherefore be ye not foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is." — Ephesians 5:17 (ASV)

Be ye not unwise. Do not be fools in the employment of your time, and in your manner of life. Show true wisdom by endeavoring to understand what the will of the Lord is, and then doing it.

* "unwise": inconsiderate. Compare "the will" to John 7:17.
