SCRIPTURE

"And they came to Elim, where were twelve springs of water, and threescore and ten palm-trees: and they encamped there by the waters." — Exodus 15:27 (ASV)

Elim - The valley of Gharandel, two hours’ journey south of Huwara.

Twelve wells - Understand this as springs; the Hebrew term denotes natural sources. These springs may have been perennial when a richer vegetation clothed the adjacent heights.
