Albert Barnes Commentary Ezekiel 27:35

"All the inhabitants of the isles are astonished at thee, and their kings are horribly afraid; they are troubled in their countenance." — Ezekiel 27:35 (ASV)

The news of Tyre’s ruin will reach to distant islands, to merchant cities that trade with her. These, in their selfish love of gain, will rejoice over her who was once paramount over them, hissing out against her curses and scorn.
