"therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nation any more, saith the Lord Jehovah;" — Ezekiel 36:14 (ASV)

Bereave – Or, as in the margin: i.e., the land will not prove the ruin of its inhabitants by tempting them (as in former times) to the sin of idolatry.
