SCRIPTURE

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, a servant is not greater than his lord; neither one that is sent greater than he that sent him. If ye know these things, blessed are ye if ye do them." — John 13:16-17 (ASV)

The servant is not. This was universally true, and they were always to remember this: that they were to manifest the same spirit that he did, and that they were to expect the same treatment from the world. See Barnes on Matthew 10:24; see Barnes on Matthew 10:25.
