SCRIPTURE

"And his fellow answered and said, This is nothing else save the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel: into his hand God hath delivered Midian, and all the host." — Judges 7:14 (ASV)

This is nothing else but the sword of Gideon—The word translated as "tumbled" in Judges 7:13 is more descriptive of a sword being brandished . Hence, the interpretation: “the sword of Gideon.” Hearing this dream and its interpretation would convince Gideon that he was indeed under the guidance of God, and so assure him of God’s aid; secondly, it would show him that panic had already fallen upon the mind of the enemy.
