Albert Barnes Commentary Luke 13:12

"And when Jesus saw her, he called her, and said to her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity." — Luke 13:12 (ASV)

You are loosed from your infirmity. This was a remarkable declaration. It does not appear that the woman applied to him for a cure; yet Jesus addressed her, and the disease departed. How clear the proofs from such a case would be that he was the Messiah! And how mighty the power of him who by a word could restore her to health!
