"And he came in the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, that they might do concerning him after the custom of the law," — Luke 2:27 (ASV)
By the Spirit. By the direction of the Spirit.
Into the temple. Into that part of the temple where public worship was chiefly performed—into the court of the women. See Barnes on Matthew 21:12.
The custom of the law. That is, to make an offering for purification, and to present him to God.
