SCRIPTURE

"And he saith unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while. For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat." — Mark 6:31 (ASV)

A desert place. A secluded place, across the sea from Capernaum, where they would be free from interruption.

Coming and going. Coming to be healed and then departing, or coming to hear him preach. It means that they were thronged, that a vast multitude was attending his preaching.
