Albert Barnes Commentary Mark 7:36

"And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it." — Mark 7:36 (ASV)

Tell no man. Do not spread the news. He was not ambitious to be known; and he knew that if much was said about his healings, it would arouse the jealousy of the Pharisees and endanger his life.
