Albert Barnes Commentary Nehemiah 5:11

"Restore, I pray you, to them, even this day, their fields, their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses, also the hundredth part of the money, and of the grain, the new wine, and the oil, that ye exact of them." — Nehemiah 5:11 (ASV)

The hundredth part of the money ... - that is, the interest. It is conjectured that the 100th part was payable monthly, or, in other words, that interest was taken at the rate of twelve percent. The Law altogether disallowed the taking of interest from Israelites (Leviticus 25:36, etc.).
