Albert Barnes Commentary Proverbs 11:31

"Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: How much more the wicked and the sinner!" — Proverbs 11:31 (ASV)

The sense appears to be: “The righteous is requited, that is, is punished for his lesser sins, or as a discipline; much more the wicked, etc.” (Compare 1 Peter 4:18).
