"Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: Ransom me because of mine enemies." — Psalms 69:18 (ASV)

Draw near to my soul – To me – for my life is in danger.

Deliver me, because of my enemies – Because they are so numerous, so powerful, and so determined on my destruction. Compare (Psalms 13:4).
