SCRIPTURE

"I write unto you, [my] little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name`s sake." — 1 John 2:12 (ASV)

I write (γραφω). Present active indicative, repeated three times, referring to this Epistle. For "the name" see 3:23; 3 John 1:7. They were loyal to the name of Christ (Matthew 10:22).

Are forgiven (αφεωντα). Doric perfect passive indicative of αφιημ (seen also in Lu 5:20,23) for the usual αφειντα. Τεκνια (little children) probably includes all, as in verse 1.
