"By faith Rahab the harlot perished not with them that were disobedient, having received the spies with peace." — Hebrews 11:31 (ASV)

Having received the spies with peace (δεξαμενη τους κατασκοπους μετ' ειρηνης). First aorist middle participle of δεχομα, to welcome (Luke 10:8,10). Κατασκοπος is an old compound (κατασκοπεω, Galatians 2:4), used of scout or spy, in LXX, here only in N.T.
