SCRIPTURE
"Then Jesus therefore said unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead." — John 11:14 (ASV)
Plainly (παρρησια). Adverb (see >on 7:4), without metaphor as in 16:29. Is dead (απεθανεν). First aorist active indicative, "died."
