"Jesus answered, I told you that I am [he]; if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:" — John 18:8 (ASV)

Let these go their way (αφετε τουτους υπαγειν). Second aorist active imperative of αφιημ. The verb υπαγειν means to withdraw (11:44). Jesus shows solicitude for the eleven as he had warned them and prayed for them (Luke 22:31f.). He is trying to help them.
