"There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink." — John 4:7 (ASV)
There cometh (ερχετα). Vivid historical present as in verse 5.A woman of Samaria (γυνη εκ της Σαμαριας). The country, not the city which was two hours away.
To draw water (αντλησα υδωρ). First aorist active infinitive of purpose of αντλεω for which see 2:8f. Cf. Rebecca in Ge 24:11,17.
Give me to drink (δος μο πειν). Second aorist active imperative of διδωμ and second aorist active infinitive (object of δος) of πινω, shortened form of πιειν. A polite request.
