SCRIPTURE

"Every one that falleth on that stone shall be broken to pieces; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will scatter him as dust." — Luke 20:18 (ASV)

Shall be broken to pieces (συνθλασθησετα). Future passive indicative of συνθλαω, a rather late compound, only here in the N.T. unless Mt 21:44 is genuine. It means to shatter.

Will scatter him as dust (λικμησε). From λικμαω, an old verb to winnow and then to grind to powder. Only here in the N.T. unless in Mt 21:44 is genuine, which see.
