SCRIPTURE

"And ye shall be hated of all men for my name`s sake: but he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved." — Matthew 10:22 (ASV)

Ye shall be hated (εσεσθε μισουμενο). Periphrastic future passive, linear action. It will go on through the ages.

For my name's sake (δια το ονομα μου). In the O.T. as in the Targums and the Talmud "the name" as here stands for the person (Matthew 19:29; Acts 5:41; Acts 9:16; Acts 15:26). "He that endureth to the end" (ο υπομεινας εις τελος). Effective aorist participle with future indicative.
