"Salute Mary, who bestowed much labor on you." — Romans 16:6 (ASV)

Mary (Μαριαν). Some MSS. have Μαριαμ, the Hebrew form. The name indicates a Jewish Christian in Rome. Paul praises her toil. See Lu 5:5.
