"and now it hath pleased thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Jehovah, hast blessed, and it is blessed for ever." — 1 Chronicles 17:27 (ASV)

Now therefore let it please you. —Rather, and now You have willed to bless. Samuel: “and now be willing, and bless.”

For you bless, O Lord. — For You, Jehovah, have blessed. Samuel is, as usual, fuller: “For you, my Lord Jehovah, have spoken [promised], and in virtue of your blessing your servant’s house shall be blessed for ever.”Numbers 22:6 illustrates our text.
