"the third to Zaccur, his sons and his brethren, twelve:" — 1 Chronicles 25:10 (ASV)
The third to Zaccur. —Literally, The third, Zaccur and his sons and his brethren — twelve. The same mode of expression is used down to 1 Chronicles 25:18, except in 1 Chronicles 25:11, which reads, The fourth for the Izrite, his sons and his brethren—twelve. The Izrite (not “Izri”) is a Gentilic name, and seems to denote a family rather than a person.
