"Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name." — 1 Chronicles 29:13 (ASV)
Now therefore, our God, we thank you. — And now, our God, we are thanking you, and praising (participles in the Hebrew). Môdîm, “thanking,” occurs nowhere else, though the verb is common in other forms.
Your glorious name. — The name of your glory: here only. (Compare to Isaiah 63:14, and Psalms 72:19.)
