"to them they gave Hebron in the land of Judah, and the suburbs thereof round about it;" — 1 Chronicles 6:55 (ASV)

Hebron. —Joshua, “the city of Arba, the father of the Anak, that is, Hebron.”

In the land of Judah. —Joshua, “hill-country” (har for ha’areç).

Suburbs. —The Hebrew migrashîm, pastures or commons, as opposed to arable land (Authorised version, “fields; ” Hebrew, sadeh). Numbers 35:3–5 defines the extent of the Levitical domain around the cities where they lived.
