"And to the sons of Gershom, according to their families, out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities." — 1 Chronicles 6:62 (ASV)

Gershom (Joshua, Gershon) throughout their families. — Hebrew: to (that is, with regard to, after) their clans (so 1 Chronicles 6:63). In 1 Chronicles 6:60, “throughout their families” represents the Hebrew in their clans.

Tribe of Manasseh in Bashan. — Joshua, “half-tribe.”
