"and Gedor, and Ahio, and Zecher." — 1 Chronicles 8:31 (ASV)

Ahio. —The recurrence of this name here lends some support to the Authorised Version in 1 Chronicles 8:14.

Zacher. —Hebrew, Zecher (compare Shamer-Shemer), the Zechariah of 1 Chronicles 9:37, which is in fact the full form of the name. Such abbreviations are common. (See 1 Chronicles 5:26, Note.) After Zecher, the phrase and Mikloth has dropped out of the text, because 1 Chronicles 8:32 begins with the same words. (See 1 Chronicles 9:33.)
