"And Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel." — 1 Kings 22:44 (ASV)

And Jehoshaphat. —This verse is chronologically out of place. It refers to the policy of Jehoshaphat, pursued apparently from the beginning, of exchanging the chronic condition of war with Israel in the preceding reigns, for peace and alliance.
