"Shimei the son of Ela, in Benjamin;" — 1 Kings 4:18 (ASV)

The eleventh division, the territory of Benjamin (properly including Jerusalem itself), though small, is singularly strong and populous, including Jericho, Bethel, Gibeon, Ramah, extending from Judah to Ephraim, and commanding the center of the high land of what was afterwards the kingdom of Judah.
