Charles Ellicott Commentary 1 Samuel 12:8

"When Jacob was come into Egypt, and your fathers cried unto Jehovah, then Jehovah sent Moses and Aaron, who brought forth your fathers out of Egypt, and made them to dwell in this place." — 1 Samuel 12:8 (ASV)

When Jacob was come into Egypt. — Now, in order, Samuel recounts the deeds of loving-kindness done for Israel by this Eternal King. And first he mentions the wonders of the Exodus, and how, under that Divine guidance, they were guided safely through so many dangers into the land of Canaan, this place.
