"And he returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which they had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And Azariah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick." — 2 Chronicles 22:6 (ASV)

And he—that is, Joram (1 Kings 8:29), and the Septuagint.

Because of the wounds.—Omit "because." This is also the reading in Kings, the Septuagint (ἀπὸ τῶν πληγῶν), Syriac, Arabic, and Targum, as well as some Hebrew manuscripts. The Hebrew text has "because the wounds," which makes no sense. The word translated "wounds" (makhim) also only occurs elsewhere in 2 Kings 8:29 and 2 Kings 9:15. (Ki, "because," originated from min, "from.")

Azariah.—This is a mistake for "Ahaziah." This is also the reading in Kings, the Septuagint, Vulgate, Syriac, Arabic, and some Hebrew manuscripts.

Went down.—Whether from Ramah or Jerusalem is not clear (see 2 Kings 9:14).

Jehoram.—In Kings, it is Joram; and so it is in the versions.
