Charles Ellicott Commentary
"Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy habitation, even unto heaven." — 2 Chronicles 30:27 (ASV)
Then the priests the Levites. — And the Levitical priests; not any irregular ministers. Some Hebrew manuscripts, the Septuagint, Syriac, and the Vulgate read, “And the priests and the Levites”: but compare 2 Chronicles 23:18.
And their voice was heard. — The priestly blessing was a prayer that Jehovah would bless . That the prayer was heard on this occasion, the writer infers from the progress of reform among the people and the wonderful deliverance from Assyria, as related in the following chapters.
Their prayer came up. — Entered into His holy dwelling into the heavens. Notice the characteristic omission of the sacred Name.
