Charles Ellicott Commentary
"And there was no passover like to that kept in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet; neither did any of the kings of Israel keep such a passover as Josiah kept, and the priests, and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem." — 2 Chronicles 35:18 (ASV)
And there was no Passover like that. — 2 Kings 23:22.
From the days of Samuel the prophet — The Book of Kings states, “from the days of the judges that judged Israel,” of whom Samuel was the last and greatest (1 Samuel 7:15).
Neither did all the kings of Israel. — The Book of Kings states, “and (from) all the days of the kings of Israel and the kings of Judah.” (Compare to 2 Chronicles 30:26).
And the priests ... Jerusalem. — This phrase is not in the Book of Kings. It is a characteristic addition by the Chronicler.
Israel that were present. — Or rather, Israel that was present, that is, the remnant who had come from the ruined kingdom of the ten tribes. (Compare to 2 Chronicles 34:33).
